This is just a small idea I just made like 20 minutes ago while playing Phantom Dust with my friend.
Okay, the idea is that the elementalist should have a skill that send out a blade or sword swiping the enemies infront and dealing the elemental damage.
For instance, you are an air ele, there are two guys infront of you. Use lighting blade or something then both enemies are struck for air dmg. THen you can probably picture the rest.
So I'm thinking
Fire/Lightning/Earth/Ice Blade
Skill. Send out a Fire/Lightning/Earth/Ice blade in front of you and all foes in front of you are struck for 10-50 fire/lightning/earth/cold damage.
Cost 10 energy recharges every 5 seconds.

How does this sound?

There's already a water magic skill that goes by a similar name Vapor Blade. That's your blade bit, otherwise sounds like another PBAoE skill :P

Water ele's already have a spell that's similar to this.

Vapor Blade, 10 energy, 7 second recharge.
Spell. Strike target foe for 15...127 cold damage, if that foe is under the effects of an enchantment, this spell deals only half damage.

What I would really like to see is a spell that allows an elementalist to actually bend the element of their choice into a weapon and actually weild the weapon, wether it be air/fire/water/earth, making the Ele class somewhat more interesting. Your rank in that attribute could increase the damage you do with that weapon.

Bah someone beat me to the Vapor Blade part =p

I thought the OP meant more like an enchantment that makes a floating sword come around you which attacks attackers.

edit: oh, maybe not

I miss d2 because of it's awesome spells. How cool would an enchantment like that be/look?

Enchantment. 2...10 [swords] revolve around you. Whenever a [sword] comes in contact with a foe, that [sword] is destroyed and that foe takes 7...22 piercing damage.

I'm not good at balance, so if that doesn't seem "right", you are free to replace all numbers with whatever you like. (I couldn't think of a word that sounded cool, so, like the numbers, feel free to replace [sword(s)] with whatever you like)

Sorry, I dont' ahve Factions so I'm not exactly aware of vapor blade. But it sounds like this idea isn't in favor.
